Stazi had her nine-month checkup today. They talked me into letting them give her four shots (usually we only let them do two at once) because it's the beginning of flu season and she's behind, and blah blah blah. I felt bad, but Stazi got over it pretty quickly with the help of some nursing and some Tylenol, so it was probably all for the best.

Vital stats: She weighs 20 pounds, and I forgot to ask her length, but it worked out to 70th percentile in weight and 94th in height. She's pretty tall, but still not as tall as Zeke was at that age. He maxed out at >99th percentile. The doctor was happy with all her development and skills, and she impressed him with her wild head of hair. (OK, it's not that wild, but I guess pediatricians always have to find something to be excited about.)

He told us to make sure all the poisons are up on high shelves, which I already knew, and not to give her dairy until she's 12 months old, which I also knew, and to let her have table foods, which we have been, and that she'll be pulling herself up and walking before long, which we also knew. These well-baby visits are basically to get shots and find out how tall she is, if you want the truth. We've been through the whole "Doctor! Doctor! He's had diaper rash for four days now; should we get prescription cream for it? Oatmeal baths? Naked time? HELP US PLEASE!!!!" phase with Zeke.

We go back in four weeks for the booster flu shot, and in three months for her one-year checkup. I am desperately trying to restrain myself from completely freaking out about this. One year?! How the hell did we get to (almost) one year!?!?

Sigh.
