On Election Day, we were killing time whilst standing in line to vote for two and a half hours, when I noticed that they had a little "Kids Vote!" booth set up in the corner of the gymnasium. I dispatched Keith and Zeke on the theory that it would distract Zeke for at least a good twenty minutes or so.

When Keith came back, he reported that Zeke had cast his ballot for "the guy who looked like Mr. Rogers." Yes, my son almost voted for George W. Bush. "Well," I cracked, "he is living in the Land of Make Believe! HAR HAR HAR!" Nobody laughed, it being hard to keep your sense of humor when you've been waiting in a hot sweaty gymnasium for two hours. Anyway, I say "almost voted" because apparently, at the last minute, Zeke crossed out W and wrote in his own name at the bottom, or at least the letter "Z".

That's my boy.
