My new laptop arrived, and I am sitting here in my living room doing this update. This morning, while the kids were at preschool, instead of wasting a bunch of time drinking coffee and reading the paper at the coffee shop, I submitted several files for the current project I'm doing for my job... while drinking coffee at the coffee shop.
I am actually able to keep an eye on and interact with my children while getting work done. Why didn't I get the laptop a long time ago? I cannot tell you how huge of an improvement this is. I helped Zeke sharpen his pencil, and watched the tap dancers on Mr. Rogers with them, and got Zeke more chicken noodle soup, and complimented Stazi on the cool thing she did with her magnetic dolls. I did all of these things instead of secluding myself upstairs in the office for an hour and a half so I could get some work done. It was totally, totally, totally worth the money. I am kicking myself for having put off buying this thing for so long because it was a luxury we didn't really need. There are luxuries, and then there are luxuries, you know?

Man, spam comments suck (above mine). SO cool about the laptop! I know I LOVE LOVE LOVE mine for the same reason! Totally worth it!
