My contribution to personal mental health for today:
I ran across a message board post where somebody claimed that Splenda, by virtue of being "chlorinated", was akin to poison and that she would rather consume high-fructose corn syrup than touch the stuff or feed it to her children. Instead of firing off a lengthy rebuttal complete with links to websites debunking this popular and yet completely fallacious claim, and including several sarcastic comments to the effect that Splenda is just about as chlorinated as salt (you know, sodium chloride? OMG! Chloride! EVERYBODY PANIC!), and further going on to mention that as a diabetic, high-fructose corn syrup is going to kill me a lot more quickly than Splenda will or ever could -- instead of all that, I closed the browser tab and am now going to bed.
Sweet dreams.

That is hilarious and the dumbest thing I have ever heard, especially about the girl with the cigarette!

I just have to comment on this! Many years ago when I still worked outside the home, I was at lunch with a group of co-workers. I ordered iced tea and proceeded to sweeten it with a packet of sweet n low. The girl sitting next to me pulled the cigarette out of her mouth and said she would never use that stuff - she didn't want to get cancer. People are stupid!
