Merry Christmas, everybody.

This is our first Christmas morning in our very own house, and ironically enough, Keith and I are the first ones awake. Zeke is still completely passed out asleep, and Stazi is feverishly considering whether to really wake up, or whether to just keep thrashing around in bed asleep while flailing her limbs in every direction. (The wild flailing is normal; the fever isn't. But we are hopeful that some Children's Tylenol will perk her right up. She's been suffering from a bad cold for a few days.)

Finished the kids' PJs in time to send them to bed wearing them last night, or almost did, anyway. Stazi's sleeper is still missing the feet, but I figured it would still be comfy to sleep in. Their stockings are hung by the chimney with something resembling care, and the tree has enough presents liberally strewn around it that I think the "Shock and Awe" part of Christmas morning should go well.

We went to my sister and brother-in-law's house for the family get-together last night. My brother-in-law made eggnog lattes for those of us who are caffeine fiends, and everyone got presents out the wazoo. Stazi got a Cabbage Patch Baby, which she may need to be surgically removed from eventually. We of course checked the baby's rear end to make sure that the official Xavier Roberts signature was there, prompting confusion from the men in the room, who, not having been little girls in the 1980s, were unfamiliar with this traditional custom.

Anyway, Stazi also got a Hello Kitty coloring book and crayons (big hit) and a Magna Doodle (might have to be surgically removed from Zeke), and Zeke got a Thomas the Tank Engine book and paint book, and a remote control car, and Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders. It was a good haul for both of them, and Christmas is barely started yet.

It looks like Stazi at least is up now, so let the good times (and eggnog) roll!
