Cute. And also, ow.
Trick-or-treating last night was a hoot, as usual. We decided to trek on down to my hometown and do Halloween in my mom's neighborhood, as the population of drunken college students is just a little too high (so to speak) in our own neighborhood, and also I wanted to show off the kids' costumes to Grandma. What can I say? After spending hours slaving over a hot sewing machine up in our sweltering attic -- it was like a sweatshop, I tell you! a sweatshop! -- I wanted to show off a little.
Okay, so it only took about a week per, and it was a pleasant 70 degrees or so in our attic. Still. Here's the product of my long labors (so to speak):

You can't see the scales on the tail, but they're there! Zeke loved this costume. He kept saying, "I am not a real dinosaur! I am a friendly dinosaur! Raaaaarrr!"

Side view so you can see the cool hat.

Cutest witch in town. Stazi was a little wary of Halloween at first, but once she realized that she wasn't being abandoned to strangers, and that by running up to the nice people with bags of candy, she could get treats, she really got into the spirit of things.
In other news, we may be closing on our house on Friday. Yes, that would be this Friday. Yes, that would be our basement, attic, bedrooms, and bathroom that are nowhere near being packed up yet. Yes, that would be me you see completely freaking out about this.
In still other news, Keith called from work earlier, and in my rush to run downstairs and answer before the machine picked up, I did a header down half a flight of stairs and crashed into the wall on the landing. I'm still pretty sore/numb in areas and I think I may have sprained my ankle. Maybe one of these days we should put a phone in the upstairs, huh?

Those are fabulous costumes!! And it looks like everyone got in on the fun! (Keith looks almost deliriously happy.) We had huge sugar highs. Well, Zoe went to a party, where they went to the mall, and the shops at the mall ran out of candy in 30 minutes, so she came home with 8 pieces. (but had fun with her friends.) Maddie immediately came to the rescue and shared her candy 50-50 with Zoe. What are siblings for if not for sharing candy?
Maddie's friend's mom came over and we watched her get high on candy. I don't think I've ever seen an adult do that before!

What a great job you did on those costumes! Your kids are growing up so fast. That fall must have scared the crap out of you, I hope you are still okay! Worried about you! Take care now.

Ouch! But! You're moving and won't have to worry about putting in another phone.
Cute costumes, and cute kids! Glad Halloween was fun.
