Drove to Chicago (okay, actually northwest Indiana, but Chicago sounds way cooler) this weekend to see an old friend get married. The wedding was great, the reception was great, everything was great. Except the morning after the reception, when I got up after four hours of sleep to make the return 6-hour trip to Ohio. Ouch.

Was totally worth it, though.

Today Zeke started preschool, which went well except that nobody informed me that with the longer sessions, the kids are supposed to bring their lunch. Thankfully, they fed Zeke from... uh, actually I have no idea where they got his lunch from (he reports that he had mac & cheese, a banana, and "some peas"), but I promised to pack him a lunch tomorrow. Then we drove to the kids' pediatrician's office to request a transfer of records to their new, and hopefully less annoying, pediatrician, and on the way home I got clocked going 51 in a 35 zone, and now have a $100 speeding ticket to pay.

Oh, well. I knew my luck with speeding tickets couldn't last forever. I have a lead foot, and there are a lot of speed traps around here, and I guess the inevitable finally happened.

Still kind of tired from the weekend (it really was a killer wedding) and the coffeepot is calling my name. Which is only marginally less annoying than the neighbors' new puppy barking its head off all day long, but that is a story for another day.
