I've been into weblogs lately. I've been reading Net Headlines and Pop Culture Junk Mail especially, because they both have great commentary along with the links. Also, Net Headlines covers the news and PCJM covers pop culture; really, what's left?

Anyway, I'm going to do a pseudo-weblog myself today. See, I compulsively email Keith all the time at his work address. Sometimes it's just random stuff that happened to me during the day, sometimes it's a query about when he wants me to come pick him up. But usually, it's a link I want him to go look at. So here, for your viewing enjoyment, are the links I've sent to Keith over the past month or so. I don't know if these reveal more about Keith, me, or our relationship together. Bon appetit.

Dec. 7: The KitchenAid mixer that I found on the KitchenAid site. It appeared to be the largest and best one they had, and in fact it was. We went to the Bon Marche that weekend (I think) and bought one, in solid black. It resides sternly in our kitchen now. We call it "Darth Mixer".

Jan. 2: Unexplained monolith turns up in Magnuson Park. Somebody has been watching a few too many Stanley Kubrick movies, apparently. The monolith was enormous, people. This was not a papier-mache thing. It was set into the ground with rebar.

Jan. 5: Support the Monolith. The Monolith's official site.

Jan. 5: Clinton's big "fuck you" to the incoming Bush administration. (No, this is not the thing about the letter W on all the keyboards.)

Jan. 9: Andersen Consulting changes its name to Accenture. An amusing column by Jon Carroll of the SF Chronicle.

Jan. 9: The U.S. Census Bureau's name frequency site. I discovered that "Jan" is the 340th most popular girl name, "Keith" is the 59th most popular boy name, my last name wasn't even listed in the frequency reports, and Keith's last name is in the top 15. Yet another reason I don't want to change my name when I get married.

Jan. 10: WWII veterans make a trans-Atlantic voyage to save an LST for a floating museum. I usually send any Navy-related news articles to Keith, no matter how tangentially related.

Jan. 12: Cantwell wins role in fight over Ashcroft An article about how our newly-elected Democratic senator won a spot on the Judiciary Committee.

Jan. 15: Pioneer Square pergola leveled by truck. A guy took a corner a little too quickly, and in less than a minute destroyed a public work that has been a symbol of the city's oldest neighborhood for a hundred years.

Jan. 16: The return of the monolith. The saga of the monolith continues.

Jan. 19: Deep fried chicken head. From Insomniaville, a journal I read fairly frequently. The graphic is... memorable.

Jan. 23: THIS is the story about the missing letter W on the White House keyboards.

Jan. 24: Grapefruit seed extract. We use this stuff in our soap, as a preservative. But I just found this site telling us why we shouldn't.

Jan. 24: Google. Their logo is very cute today, in honor of Tet (the Chinese New Year).

There. I promise not to lapse into weblogging again for at least a month. Aren't you glad?
